Hydropower trade fair with an international focus
EREF and WIP Renewable Energies at Renexpo Interhydro
At the Renexpo Interhydro on 30 and 31 March at the Messezentrum Salzburg, the European Renewable Energies Federation (EREF) and WIP Renewable Energies will provide information on the EU project "HYPOSO" (Hydropower Solutions for developing and emerging countries), as well as new EU legislative procedures affecting European small hydropower.
HYPOSO
The EU project promotes the expansion and development of small hydropower in Africa and Latin America as a cornerstone of sustainable energy supply. Specifically, six small hydropower project opportunities in Africa, with pre-feasibility already completed, will be presented at Renexpo Interhydro on 30 March. The aim is to bring together interested European companies and African project managers for implementation.
Workshop on EU legislative procedures
By the end of 2023 at the latest, the European Union will have completed legislative procedures under the European Green Deal and the REPowerEU initiative. Some of these EU dossiers will have an impact on the development of the hydropower sector in Europe. The workshop on 31 March will provide an overview of the latest developments regarding the revision of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED III and IV) and the new EU Renewable Energy Sources Act. In addition, the revision of the National Energy and Climate Plans (NEKPs) offers hydropower stakeholders the opportunity to advocate for the sector at national level. Furthermore, the new EU hydropower projects "ETIP Hydropower" and "PEN@Hydropower" will be presented.
Extensive stage programme
Exhibitors and visitors will also benefit from numerous lectures, keynotes and panel discussions with well-known industry representatives from business and politics.
